Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum
The Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum began in 1914. What started in one room of the 1893 Courthouse has accumulated over 15,000 artifacts and more than one million documents.
Today, visitors can learn about the first contact between Native Americans and Europeans to Les Paul’s legacy. The Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum serves “to foster an exploration of the American Experience through the stores of Waukesha County.”

Waukesha Bus Statues
On the corner of Brook Street and East Saint Paul Avenue, “Life’s Ribbon” (more commonly referred to as the Waukesha Bus Statues) was created by Richard Taylor. Built in 2005, welded pieces of aluminum and industrial paint have Life’s Ribbon standing tall at 13 feet.

Clock Tower
The Clock Tower can be found along the Fox River Trail southwest of the Madison Street/West Broadway and Bank Street/Clinton Street intersection. The stone clock tower is a great place to meet friends and family for a walk.

Les Paul Birthplace
Lester Polfuss, known as Les Paul, was born at 300 West Saint Paul Avenue in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Les would spend time at the park as a boy and eventually bring his guitar to play jazz at the Cutler Park Bandshell.
Today, the Cutler Park Bandshell is named the Les Paul Performance Center in his honor. You can visit the Performance Center at 321 Wisconsin Avenue from 6:00 AM – 11:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Les Paul Monument
Les Paul rests at Prairie Home Cemetery. You can find Les Paul’s monument “in the easternmost point of Section 5 of the cemetery.”
