Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum

The Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum began in 1914. What started in one room of the 1893 Courthouse has accumulated over 15,000 artifacts and more than one million documents.

Today, visitors can learn about the first contact between Native Americans and Europeans to Les Paul’s legacy. The Waukesha County Historical Society & Museum serves “to foster an exploration of the American Experience through the stores of Waukesha County.”

    Waukesha Bus Statues

On the corner of Brook Street and East Saint Paul Avenue, “Life’s Ribbon” (more commonly referred to as the Waukesha Bus Statues) was created by Richard Taylor. Built in 2005, welded pieces of aluminum and industrial paint have Life’s Ribbon standing tall at 13 feet.
